Privacy policy

This is a personal blog by Mayank Kumar Poddar. It has no accounts and no comments. It uses Google Analytics to count visits and, later, Google AdSense for ads. This page explains the data that is involved.

Data this site stores

Your browser keeps one value, your light or dark theme choice, in local storage. It never leaves your device. The site's host, GitHub Pages, may log requests such as your IP address and browser details; see GitHub's privacy statement.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits. It records which pages are viewed, roughly where in the world visitors are, and what device and browser they use. It sets cookies (named _ga and_ga_ followed by an id) to tell visits apart. Visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are not measured with cookies unless they consent. Advertising

This site may show ads served by Google AdSense. Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

Some posts embed videos or images from other sites, such as YouTube. A video shows a preview image from YouTube, and the video player itself loads only after you press play, from YouTube's privacy-enhanced domain (youtube-nocookie.com). Those sites may set their own cookies when their content loads.
